Stavanger, Norway | August 2026: As the global energy community gathered in Stavanger for ONS 2026, conversations around the future of energy created space for something equally important: stronger international partnerships and new business opportunities.
The recent Norway India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI) India Session: Norway–India Business Opportunities in Energy brought together Norwegian and Indian companies, government representatives and industry leaders to explore where the two countries can work more closely across the energy value chain.
The timing could not have been more relevant. With Norway’s long-standing expertise in energy, engineering and offshore technology and India’s rapidly growing energy market, the potential for collaboration between the two countries continues to expand.
The discussion explored opportunities across India’s upstream sector, exploration and technology, engineering partnerships, strategic manufacturing and the growing Norway–India engineering corridor. Beyond identifying opportunities, the session provided a platform for stakeholders from both countries to exchange ideas, share experiences and explore where their strengths could complement one another.
Kilowott was represented by Judah Fernandez, who served as the moderator for the evening’s session. His role brought together diverse perspectives and helped facilitate a meaningful exchange among industry stakeholders, highlighting the importance of open dialogue in turning shared interests into potential business opportunities.
The session also featured a keynote by Narendra Taneja, titled “The India Opportunity Norway Can’t Afford to Ignore,” which highlighted the scale of India’s opportunity and the growing potential for deeper economic and industry ties between the two nations.
Two Energy Journeys, A Shared Opportunity
Norway has spent a century turning energy beneath the sea into national prosperity. India, meanwhile, is building its energy future at a scale the world has rarely seen. While the two markets have followed different paths, their complementary strengths create significant opportunities for knowledge sharing, technology, investment and long-term partnerships.
The conversation during ONS 2026 was therefore about more than energy. It was about connecting markets, expertise and people to explore what could be built together. As Norway and India continue to strengthen their business relationship, opportunities across engineering, technology, manufacturing and the wider energy ecosystem are likely to become increasingly important.
