Goa-Norway Collaboration Gains Momentum with Minister Rohan Khaunte, NICCI & Kilowott

Goa, India | June 2026 : Goa is stepping onto the international business stage with renewed purpose. A recent strategic discussion brought together Honourable Minister Rohan Khaunte, the Norway India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI) and Kilowott to explore how Goa can deepen its role in the growing India-Norway economic partnership. The discussion was focused, forward-looking and grounded in real opportunity, a signal that Goa Norway business collaboration is moving from conversation into action.

Positioning Goa at the Heart of India-Norway Economic Engagement

The discussion centred on inviting Minister Khaunte and his team, representing the Government of Goa, to participate in Norway India Business Days (NIBD) 2026 in Oslo, with a particular emphasis on boosting bilateral trade between both nations. NICCI has offered to host a dedicated Goa-focused breakout session during the NIBD 2026 delegation, creating a targeted platform for focused discussions and business growth opportunities specific to Goa’s strengths and ambitions.

Alongside representation from the Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), there is strong intent to mobilise a Goa delegation to Oslo, reinforcing India’s engagement within the Norway business ecosystem and putting Goa firmly on the bilateral map. For Kilowott, rooted in Goa and actively engaged in cross-border digital transformation across the India-Norway corridor, this is a natural and significant development. Strengthening Goa’s presence in Oslo aligns directly with a long-term commitment to building the bilateral relationship from the ground up.

As a continuation of this momentum, NICCI is mobilising a Norway business delegation to India in November 2026, including a dedicated Goa programme. The programme will focus on strategic discussions and a Norway-India seminar with shipbuilding and talent development as core themes two areas where the Goa-Norway relationship has the most immediate and compelling potential.

Goa is more than a tourism destination. It has established shipyards, deep expertise in commercial vessel construction, a strategic coastline and a growing innovation ecosystem. These are not aspirational attributes, they are existing strengths that make Goa a compelling and credible partner for Norway’s maritime and shipbuilding industries. Norway’s global leadership in maritime technology, sustainable shipping and offshore innovation sits in natural alignment with what Goa brings to the table. Add talent development, digital innovation and the broader India-Norway trade frameworks currently in motion including the India-EU FTA and the India-EFTA TEPA agreements and the case for Goa as a strategic corridor becomes not just compelling but essential.

The discussions held with Minister Khaunte, NICCI and key industry bodies reflect a growing alignment between government, business and organisations like Kilowott that are already building across this corridor. That alignment is precisely what turns bilateral ambition into bilateral outcomes. Kilowott looks forward to supporting this journey through technology, digital capability and a genuine commitment to making Goa’s international partnerships count.

This is more than a business initiative. It is a shared vision, to strengthen Goa’s role as a meaningful corridor for engagement with Norway and to deepen India-Norway economic relations in ways that create lasting value for both nations.
