

A high-level roundtable hosted by the Government of Goa’s IT and Tourism Department, in collaboration with the Norway India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI), brought together representatives from Norway and India to explore strategic partnerships in tourism, technology, and economic development. The event focused on actionable opportunities to strengthen business ties, foster sustainable growth, and create long-term collaborations between Goa and Norway.
Kilowott participated alongside the Norwegian delegation, including Monica Skjellen-Larsen, Bjørn Aspøy, and Christian Hedløv Engh, as well as NICCI members Trond Skundberg, Helge Tryti, and Prabha Chandran. Discussions emphasized connecting Norwegian companies with local business opportunities, sharing best practices, and facilitating talent exchange programs such as NTNU initiatives in Norway. Christian Hedløv Engh highlighted potential collaboration across tourism, technology, education, and sustainable business solutions, underlining the mutual benefits for both regions.
Goa’s IT and Tourism Minister, Rohan Khaunte, spoke about the state’s commitment to moving beyond agreements toward practical, impactful collaborations that directly address local business needs. Neville Noronha, OSD to the Minister of IT, emphasized the importance of translating discussions into immediate action to strengthen Norway–Goa ties, highlighting the state’s readiness to support international investment and innovation.
A key highlight of the program was the business matchmaking session organized by the Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) in partnership with NICCI and hosted by Models Group. The session enabled Norwegian and Indian businesses to engage directly with potential partners, exchange market insights, and explore joint ventures. Several MOUs were signed to promote bilateral trade, facilitate joint delegations, host collaborative events, and provide increased visibility for members and partners. GCCI President Pratima Dhond and Christian Hedløv Engh formally marked the conclusion of NICCI India’s delegation program, underscoring the success of the interactions.
The roundtable concluded with an exclusive networking session bringing together government officials, industry leaders, business associations, and NICCI members from across India. This session provided a platform for high-level dialogue, fostering meaningful partnerships and exploring innovative solutions across sectors. Participants highlighted the potential for Norway–Goa collaboration in areas such as sustainable tourism, digital innovation, IT-enabled services, talent mobility, and knowledge sharing.
Overall, the event showcased Goa as a strategic hub for international business collaboration, reaffirming its position as a gateway for Norway–India partnerships and opening new avenues for economic, industrial, and technological growth. The roundtable not only strengthened bilateral ties but also laid the foundation for future initiatives that will bring tangible benefits to both regions.
